Stuart Price, producer, mixer and DJ-supreme (Les Rythmes Digitales, Jaques Le Cont) was probably the only reason she was there tonight as he was spinning too. I’m assuming he managed to convince her to pop in because it’d be extremely beneficial to her reputation, with the release of her new album coming up, to be seen at such a “hip” place and to also prove she’s in touch with "the youth" and aware of that whole scene.
People literally MisShat themselves the second she came in, sparking a giant sweaty hipster stampede as she walked upstairs to the DJ booth. A line of bodyguards built like fucking brick-shit houses pushed the crowds back, making them part way for her. I managed to reach out like a proper fucking fanatic and touch her furry collar. (WOOHOO I TOUCHED MADGE!) I also took a pretty fanfuckingtastic photo too, even if I do say so myself.
I’m sure I’ll never be able to top that one.
I was being crushed in the swaying crowd and was convinced the floor was going to collapse any second so I legged it downstairs to escape. It was so unbearable. I never want to be caught in the middle of something like that for longer than five seconds ever again. It was truly horrifying.
Anyway, enough about Maddy, lets re-rewind to earlier this week.
Monday night a bunch of us went along to Tribeca Grand Hotel where Sons and Daughters were performing at the Franz Ferdinand after party. I instantly feel in love with S&D the moment their set began. It was just frantic. I spotted Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters there, and a few of the dudes from Franz and Idlewild. I’m sure there were plenty more ‘famous’ people hiding out somewhere but it was so dark inside, it was difficult to tell.
I’ve been out almost every night this week and sometimes running on just a couple hours of sleep before facing a full day at work. All I can say is praise be for Red Bull. But still, the sleep depravation caught up with me on Thursday evening after The Bravery show at Roseland Ballroom. I actually had a really, really, REEEEALLY fun time at the gig. The venue was only half full and the band had a couple of sound problems but all in all I think they did well, especially with the singles which had everyone at least nodding their heads AND tapping their feet at the same time. I was really confused by the turn out of the crowd as there were definitely more guys than girls and not a lot of people under the age of 20 or your typical hipster type.
The doorman at the show asked me if I’d like to get married because my MisFits pin badge matched his tattoo. I politely declined. I swear it had nothing to do with the fuzz of ginger hair poking out the back collar of his shirt or the lovely big beer belly he was rockin’. :/

I forgot to take photos of the show but I did take a couple of snaps of Times Square as we left.

Afterwards Sarah and I headed to the Mercury Lounge to see The Youth Group perform but I passed out at the bar before they even took to the stage so I cabbed it home... all three blocks or so. (I tip well.)
Friday felt like it lasted a whole week because I crammed so much into one day. After a hectic day at work I hung out at home with Sarah and Josh, watching Degrassi and generally being dorks united.

Our first stop was Geo’s birthday party at his crib. It was like MisShapes but on a Friday night instead.

We showed up with armfuls of 40’s for Geo, even though he doesn’t drink beer. We just thought it’d be hilarious to see him, a guy with a smaller body than most girls I know, try chugging back a giant bottle of beer. I was absolutely starving like my name was Marvin so when Leigh held a try of brownies in front of me I devoured a king size slice. I thought it tasted kinda funky but didn’t think to question it until later when someone asked me if I’d tried the, um, “special” brownies yet. Woops.
As a woozy feeling swept over my body I ducked out the party and headed to the Lower East Side to hang out with a new friend (cough*date*cough). I was thinking about this earlier today. When I first started this blog I vowed to myself I’d never hold back from being fully truthful with the events of my life and that was meant to include guys and dating, but as time wore on, I became more and more aware of who’s reading my blog and now find myself holding back or completely leaving out certain things in case someone I know reads it and is offended. It kinda blows because I never wanted it to come to this. But maybe I’ll just have to save all the juicy stuff for a randy book I’ll release in the future!
Anyway back to Friday night, after “hanging out with my new friend” I popped into the Orchard Bar where I danced the night away with a bevvy of extremely prettyful teenage boys with cute hairstyles and even cuter Long Island accents. It was Boy Heaven.

Only downer of the night came at the end when we discovered about five people including a really good friend of ours had been victims of nasty pick-pocketers lurking in the Orchard Bar. It bummed me out. Boo. :{
On a lighter note I’d like to say how extremely proud I am of my little doll of a housemate Sarah after discovering TWO singles released by bands through Stolen Transmission have been used on TV commercials!! I believe the Louis XIV track is being used on a Nintendo Game Cube ad and The Spinto Band’s Oh Mandy features on a Sears commercial. WEEEEEEEE!!!! Congratulations!
In a Borat style “Success!”

(Note how Sarah's hair, bag and even Kick match. Purple is the new pink, black, green, whatever.)

I love Sarah's coat. Is it from Zara?!?!
a few things:
1)i was jealous until you told me about the crowd.
2)you and i always take a photo with our noses touching the other person's face. why do we do that? (because it's cute)
3)sarah is adorable.
Every time I look at Sarah I get coat envy, it's gorgeous and yesh it is from Zara!

Big buttons = doll clothes. Makes her look even tinier.
I hate it when you get stuck in a crowd too. Got stuck in the middle of a mosh pit once and let me tell you it was disgusting!!!!
p.s. JOSH = HOTNESS!
I must agree, Josh is looking so hot in those glasses.
He looks designer geek
Think that could give you some Search Engine popularity, and traffic???
